Innovation & You: Dell Wyse Datacenter




To effectively access Windows applications, improve productivity, easily access, manage virtual desktops and manage social networks Dell announced a series of solutions which it said are designed to help customers

The Dell Appliance for Wyse – vWorkspace empowers small and mid-sized organizations to access the benefits of desktop virtualization and Windows application delivery to a variety of endpoints, including Wyse thin clients and Chrome OS devices. It enables access to Windows desktops and applications such as Excel and PowerPoint from nearly any HTML5 browser-capable device, without the need for any client software installation on the device.
The company through press release, highlighted the benefits and features of the solution:
·         All VDI software is pre-installed; deployment simply consists of installing the component, connecting to power and network connections, and powering on.
·         Wyse vWorkspace can be managed by IT generalists with end-user running skills and experience with Microsoft programs.
·         The users can access Windows applications, including Microsoft Office products, with an HTML5 browser-capable device such as a Chromebook.
·         Compatible with a variety of Dell endpoints, including Wyse thin clients and Dell Chromebooks.
·         One appliance can deliver Windows applications to up to 350 devices for the server hardware and licenses, hypervisor and vWorkspace broker.
Availability
·         It will be available from Dell and through Dell Direct Partners worldwide starting summer 2015.
·         Migration Manager for Enterprise Social is available presently.
·         The R930 Dell Power Edge server will be available from June 2015.
